Finally, after months of lovingly nurturing Coachamatic in its re-birth as a group coaching blog, the day has come where we're ready unveil it to the world.
Here's some background on this newly launched group coaching blog:
It's actually not new. It's 4 years old and was Andy's first blog.
Did you know that before Andy was the big time online marketing guru that he is today, that he first trained to be a coach?
Yes, it's true! Andy's background is a mish-mash of coaching, marketing, e-learning, web design, technology, theater, playwriting, and directing. He's sort of the renaissance man for the 21st century.
Andy is blessed/cursed with being a forward thinker, always a few steps ahead of the mainstream. People didn't know what the heck he was doing having a blog devoted to giving coaching tips.
Imagine--it's 2002 and people are like "What the heck is a blog? And what the heck is a coach?"
But he kept at it, blogging away by himself on Coachamatic for 2 years.
Of course he got lots of traffic (he's a master with SEO and has great content), but he stopped blogging on Coachamatic about 2 years ago, when he started his Small Business Blogging with Andy Wibbels blog.
Just for kicks, a few months ago he did a traffic report for Coachamatic to see if anyone was still looking at it. Would you believe it--after 2 years of sitting on the shelf it was still pulling in 1,600 hits a day!!!
So, Andy thought--Coachamatic is just sitting there, a diamond in the rough. Why not convert it into something the coaching community as a whole could benefit from?
And thus, the idea of re-inventing Coachamatic as a dynamic group blog for coaches was born.
I came on board as the Coachamatic Coordinator in July 2006. My job was to create a timeline and manage the execution of the multiple little projects that went in to making this big project possible.
We started out by posting a call for coaches on Andy's blog. We had planned to do 4 "calls for bloggers", but we were astounded when, within one week after the first call for bloggers went out, that 120 coaches enthusiastically raised their hands saying they wanted to be involved in this groundbreaking project.
Then the arduous task of narrowing the pool of amazingly talented applicants down to just 30 coaches began.
At the same time, we were doing loads of keyword research, getting the behind-the-scenes search engine optimization wheels rolling again and crafting Coachamatic to take over the online world of coaching.
Andy wanted to have a good amount of content up on the blog before doing a public launch, so the Coachamatic bloggers have actually been blogging away since the beginning of September. I didn't know what to expect as far as quality of content--but let me tell you, I'm proud to report that it's amazingly good.
So, who is this blog meant for? Basically everyone.
If you're a coach, you're gonna feel right at home on Coachamatic.
If your clients are coaches, you should be reading it and hanging out there.
If you think you might be able to use a coach's advice, you could really benefit from reading some of the top-notch articles about everything from productivity, to small biz development, to how to manage your weight, to conflict management, to parenting, to everything in between.
The content is as diverse as the types of coaches who are blogging on the blog--which is pretty diverse.
So, head on over there. It's www.coachamatic.com.
Also, here's the press release I wrote for the launch.
