You know, when I was a kid, co-workers had to gather together under one physical roof, battle breakneck traffic to get to work, and were required to work in dreadful, cramped "cubicles"--and that's the way we liked it!
Well, alright, we didn't like it. That's why we decided to work from home, become online entrepreneurs and hange our shingle on a virtual storefront (and take back out lives, time, creativity and dignity).
But now it looks like folks with their eyes on career and work trends are taking notice of us virtual company owners and are spreading the news to the mainstream public.
A couple weeks ago I was interviewed by Boston Globe Correspondent, Emily Shartin about my thoughts about this new phenomenon called "the virtual company".
Emily's article was published on Sunday--check out the online version here. And yes, you'll see that I'm in the article! Yay!
A HUGE thanks to Emily Shartin for thinking of me when she was writing her story on virtual companies.
Side note--if you're feeling deja vu when reading this post and are thinking, "Didn't Sharon already tell us about her interview with the journalist a couple weeks ago?"--please note that this is a different journalist.
Both journalists, Emily Shartin and Penelope Trunk, are syndicated columnists for The Boston Globe. I met Penelope through my blog/her blog, and then I met Emily as a result of Penelope's article.
And no, I don't live in Boston. I'm in Alabama. Boston just seems to be really on top of the "virtual company" trend.
