Unplug from your computer on March 24
Remember the days when you used to not work on the weekend?
I remember when I used to work a corporate job and didn't have a computer at home that it was basically a given that no work would be done on my weekends.
Well, all that changes when you get your own business. All the sudden, you're working morning, noon, and night (and weekends).
Sometimes I wish that someone would just cut me off--just take the computer away from me sometimes so that it wouldn't even be an option to turn it on.
Well, things haven't gone that far yet, but Shutdown Day is coming kinda close to that by telling us that we need to turn off our computers on Saturday, March 24.
All day, for 24 hours. No computer.
We're going to be forced to go outside and enjoy the sunshine, to interact with live humans, to do "real world" things that we've been meaning to do but haven't had the time to. It's going to be fun!
Will you participate? Let me know. You know I will--I've just been looking for an excuse to unplug. (via)

Ha! So I can unplug my computer ... but I can still Twitter! Only joking ... not really that addicted ... but don't know that I can, really, turn off my computer. Maybe the home one.

Yes, Twitter is off limits too! :-)
Actually I did the ShutDown Day yesterday, and it was really enjoyable. It's nice to take a step back from all the crazy stimuli that can overtake us online, and to get a fresh perspective.
I wonder if anyone else did the shut down day?

OK ... I admit I did the shutdown ... though I twittered via SMS just once. It was at the koala park and I wanted to make you all jealous.

Awww--you know, if I had been online watching Twitter, then I definitely would have been jealous of you at the koala park! What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday.
