I imagine that in 5 years or so, whenever colleges or high schools have career fairs, that alongside the tables of Army recruiters, accounting firms and computer engineering companies that there will also be a table set up with a sign that says "Six Figure Bloggers".
The people sitting behind that table will be wearing jeans, shorts, sun dresses-- whatever they find comfortable. No suits and ties, no pantyhose, no uniforms. Just folks dressed in "regular" casual clothes who happen to be making a pretty darn decent living blogging.
In my daydream, the problogging table at the career fair will be
completely swamped. I mean, who wouldn't want this gig? You're writing,
you're doing what you love, communicating with a worldwide audience,
working your own hours at whatever location you like wearing whatever
you like. You've escaped becoming a cubicle drone (thank the Lord!!!).
You don't have to fight traffic to get to work. You can be making money
even when you're sleeping and playing. Oh, and the money can be pretty
darn breathtaking--try $10k+/month.
This is the daydream. The reality is that you have to work really
hard, really consistently to become a six figure blogger, and you have
to know the tricks of the trade. Andy Wibbels and Darren Rowse are totally up-front about that--they make it real clear that their Six Figure Blogging (6FB) course ain't no "get rich quick" scheme.
They're offering the course because they know that it is doable
for the average person who puts forth the effort. Both Andy and Darren
are "normal" folks (whatever that means :-)) who have taken their
passion for blogging to the highest level and become problogging
pioneers. They're both super-nice guys who are willing to share their
secrets and wisdom with us. It's not an exclusive club; it's just a new
club. We could eventually join it too.
I started out by listening to the free 1 hour preview call for 6FB. (You can get access to the preview call here.)
By the end of the call, I was so excited that I couldn't wait to start
the class for real. That was a few weeks ago--right now I'm in the
middle of 6FB, and I'm so excited that they've added yet another class
to the teleseminar.
One of the things I like most about the course is that you can
listen to the classes whenever you like. You can listen to them at
home, stream on a laptop or download to an iPod. It's completely a
convenience thing, and I really appreciate it!
Just a heads up--Shhhhhh. Don't tell Andy and Darren that I said this, but this course is priced waaaay
too cheap! It should really cost double what they're charging, at
least. Eventually they're gonna figure it out, so you might want to
jump on this deal now while it's at the rock bottom price. You can go here to register or learn more about the course.
Warning: If you're not into blogging, then 6FB is gonna go completely over your head. If you're a blogging novice, take one of Andy's beginner classes,
start your blog, and get some experience under your belt. Then you can
move onto 6FB. Six Figure Blogging is geared towards experienced
bloggers, not beginners. It's not for the faint of heart!
