Most virtual businesses can be headquartered from home, with a virtual team who works from their own homes. Thanks):

Great blog. There is a lack of awareness when it comes to doing business online. Thanks for the tips on how to reduce the expenses when doing a virtual business.

Sharon, what a great list. I am a virtual assistant. My business is a virtual business, and I am a part of my clients' virtual team. The areas you have listed are important. Another tip might be to learn about online marketing from reliable sources. I have seen and heard about too many people that throw money at internet marketing without having a plan in place, thereby wasting their money and resources. Sometimes this can be a very expensive mistake.

Hi Laura Jo,

That's so true--definitely it pays to invest money in the right people when it comes to learning about internet marketing.

I can highly recommend Andy Wibbels http://andywibbels.com/.

He has entertaining, quality courses and the guy sure does know what he's talking about. All of his courses also have lifetime membership, so basically when you sign up you're in his classroom for life :-)

Thanks so much for chiming in!

Ethan and Internet Business--thanks so much for stopping by!

These are great tips - I wish I had read more articles like this when I started my home business. I couldn't agree more about spending on the chair and not the desk. As someone that sits for almost 8 hours everyday I needed an ergonomic chair but was hesitant about spending the money. I found a website called www.OfficeDesigns.com and they were able to give me a great deal and shipped the chair for free. Their site is a must-visit for anyone starting their home business.

Oooo, thanks Dave! Will definitely check that site out...(I need a new chair :-))
